RIM-116 Rolling Airframe Missile

Ship anti-aircraft missile system to protect the immediate ship. Developed jointly by US firms, Germany and Denmark. Adopted SAM «ASMD» the Naval Forces of Germany in 1987. In the design of the rocket RAM (RIM-116A) were used infrared homing missiles from MANPADS «Stinger», and the motor, warhead and fuze from aircraft missiles «Sidewinder».
